Last night I had the opportunity to film a talented Jazz trio called Two Skirts and a Shirt. They played three shows at Dazzle (www.dazzlejazz.com) in downtown Denver and they really brought the house down. The first show featured two patriotic songs that have some controversy surrounding them at the moment, due to layering alternate lyrics on top of the tune of the national anthem. The show was politically charged (as most things in Denver are at the moment) and there were lots of references to the DNC, Barak Obama, and how much this country needs change.

Andre DeFelice

I've just finished cutting a video about Andre DeFelice, a very strong young boulderer from Fort Collins. He managed to send Freaks of the Industry (V 13) a couple days ago and I was there to shoot it. Inspiring stuff Andre. The video will be released soon on http://www.momentumvm.com/ so keep your eyes peeled for it. Here's a photo of Andre at the crux of the problem.

A visitor to the blog

Today my blog had its first visitor, a man named Herm. He followed the link from an email I sent him, and he had some great advice on improving my website too. Thanks Herm! This picture is from Hueco Tanks, it's Mr. Herm on Full Throttle (V13). Today I'm doing more studio work, and updating my stock library. Stock footage is one of the more boring parts of the video world, but it's a good money-maker so I cant ignore it.

Yesterday I met with my friend Donnie Betts, a local filmmaker who I work for occasionally. We are shooting a very important Jazz performance tomorrow at the best jazz club in Denver, Dazzle. I'm looking forward to it and I'll post up some more stuff soon about the show. Here's a picture of Donnie:

Climbing wise, I've been taking it easy lately, and letting my elbows heal up from my trip to Rocklands. I'm starting to feel the psych though, so it wont be too long before I'm back to 100%.

Alex Johnson

I just spoke to Alex Johnson, an amazing rock climber from Wisconsin who has recently moved to Colorado to attend UNC. She did the first female ascent of Clear Blue Skies at Mt. Evans recently. Congrats Alex!

Here's a photo of Alex working European Human Being at RMNP last week. I'm sure she'll send that one this season too.

Boone Speed

Boone Speed is an amazing guy. This spring I went to Salt Lake City with Keith and we shot a portrait and a video with Boone. In addition to being one of the most important American sport climbers during the 90's, Boone has put lots of time into the 'lost wax' process used to create bronze figures. I shot an interview with Boone and the video portrait is now on Climbing.com's website, here: Boone Speed.

Consolidating

Today I'm finally getting around to doing some digital chores. I have never built a website so I'm learning how to do it. I wanted a site where I could consolidate all my various films and businesses into one place. I also wanted to have a blog because that seems to be the preferred method of broadcast these days.

Anyways, I look forward to maintaining a better on-line presence in the future and I hope you'll visit often to check for updates. The site is still under construction, but it will be up soon at the address www.chuckfryberger.com.
